RE: Help??question winterize/city water connection

Dennis,
Thanks for the quick responce,I looked at it w/a flashlight and it seemed to be ok when I pushed on it.When I get back in town I'll look a little closer maybe it's not seating correctly but nothing seemed to be interfering w/it.Never had that problem before.THanks

Help??question winterize/city water connection

Every year I winterize my 5er w/no problems and tonight at the last min. I decide to get it done before I leave for the weekened(5er staying home)Headed to Fl. for a couple days.Everything was good until I noticed the pink stuff going away faster than it should. It was comming out the city water connection.I've always had to poke at it just to make the pink stuff come out of there.I pulled the screen out and poked at it but it still let the pink stuff flow right out.If its broke what needs to be replaced?I got it winterized but used more pink than I should have.

RE: KOA

We stayed in KOA's on our trip to Fl.All were good,no problems. The Koa in Statesville N.C and one in Fl. had people living at the campground but no complaints. We go to the KOA in Fredericksburg,Va. all the time for a quick get-away...It's very clean!!well kept and the staff friendly/helpful(man I should get a KOA discount card for that plug)Have a great trip!

I know most all you here about is bad things w/the Carlisle tires but 2 friends of mine use them on their 5er's and no problems... and I believe Goodyear makes the Marathons...

RE: Great wheel & tire fitment guide!!

I signed up awhile ago, thought it was a great fitment guide and looks to be adding more information all the time.I've never got any emails from them(so no big deal giving them my email)your email helps them monitor how active the site is.

RE: 20" Wheels and Trailer Hook Up?

I know on the 4x4's the 20in. tire is a 275/55r20 and the factory option for the 2wd is a 265/65r18 so the 20in. tire size should be the same as the 17 or 18 in diameter. No problems w/towing your trailer, like you said just get the right drop on your ball-mount.

RE: Tire life on 2500HD Silverado, and what to replace with?

Nitto Durra Grapplers,I've got them on my truck and love them. They make the 245/75r16 10ply then it jumps to 285/75r16 10ply.

RE: Darnnit--another season over

I know how you feel!!We started the season out great, early spring out a few times then one 9 day trip to Pa. then a weekened out just me and my 2 boys and then it was like every weekened something kept us at home.I'm not ready to winterize just yet,I want at least one more weekened before I'm done.I usually don't winterize until mid Nov. anyway and it's not like it cost that much to de-winterize and do it again when I get back.I'm always ready to get away for a weekened no matter what the weather but I guess I'll face reality and get ready to park it.My daughter starts travel volleyball soon and then there is no chance at camping then but lots of fun watching her play.

RE: Carlise Tire Blowout

I think the whole defective tire thing is really hard to determine alot of times because the tire is usually destroyed because after going flat the wheel digs into the tire and shreads it to pieces. At the very least Carlisle should have called you back! The fifth wheel manufac. should pay more attention to whats going on(some are)and get these tires off that have known problems and go to a better quality tire. The diff. in the price of a better tire is'nt going to make the 5er price change to make any diff.My opinion would be to try Carlisle again(call them, talk to someone)by chance maybe they will do something but I doubt it.If you feel uncomfortable with the tires take them off and go to a better quality tire.I have Loadstar(by Kenda)on my 5er and I'm faced w/the same thing, good tread but over and over problems are reported about these tires comming apart.I've got two friends w/5ers and Carlisles on both ,no problems and no problems so far for me but every time out I worry about the tires...I'm replacing mine soon with Goodyears(235/85r16 G)not cheap when the tires I have look great!
